October Goals


October marks the start toย one of my favorite seasons! Yay, Fall! I don’t know about you, but here in Chicago it has been getting a lot cooler – thank goodness. I was starting to get really tired of having to get ready super early for the day so that I didn’t have to worry about sweating off my makeup!

I am so excited for this month! I have a lot of things that I want to accomplish and am feeling motivated to start!

Before I get into my goals for this month, let’s see how I did with my goals from last month…

September Goals

Personal Goals

  • Do a meditation, relaxation, or breathing exerciseย at leastย once a day
  • Re-connect with friends from home once a week
  • Finish decorating sitting area in apartment
  • Clean out old papers in office

I didn’t finish any of my personal goals for last month. Eek! Although, I can say that I did work on each goal.

I did not do a meditation each and every day last month, but I would say that I did them when I was feeling stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed, which is a pretty good amount of time!

As for reaching out to my friends at home, I did do this, but I am sad to say that it was not once a week. This is something that I am horrible at when I get super busy! It’s bad, I know. Staying in touch with my friends is extremely important to me, which is why I plan on adding this goal to my personal goals list for this month.

The last 2 personal goals just didn’t happen since I got too busy with other aspects of my life. I really really do need to organize my office area and would love for my sitting area to be finished, but, to be quite honest, these just aren’t a major priority (finishing the sitting area isn’t, at least!). I should’ve realized this before I added them to my goal list, but now I know!

Blog/Social Media Goals

  • Write 4 blog posts
  • Gain a Twitter following (start account)
  • 75 Instagram followers
  • 200 Pinterest followers
  • Set up an email subscriber list

As I am getting to understand the blogging world more and more, the more comfortable I am getting with posting to social media. Truth be told, I was super nervous to put my content out there in hopes *gasp* someone would read it! I very quickly got over this. I am very pleased with how I did with my blog/social media goals this past month.

I did start a Twitter account as well! If you know Twitter like the back of your hand or can give me some tips on how to reach people better, I would love to learn. This is definitely a learning area for me.

I set a goal to have 75 Instagram followers and 200 Pinterest followers. I am happy to say that I reached this goal and now have 241 Instagram followers and 227 Pinterest followers. Compared to some of you, I am sure this is nothing, but I am still proud of it ๐Ÿ™‚

My last goal was to set up an email subscriber list, which I did not do because I would like to set up a PO box before hand, so that I can use the PO box’s address instead of my home address. Something I’ll have to do later!

Now, for what you’ve been waiting for…ย 

So, I’ve been doing some thinking about what I would like the theme for this month’s posts to be, and I think I have come to a conclusion. I have A LOT to say about self-care, and there is a lot that I didn’t get to last month. So….. I am sticking with self care! My plan is to get down into the nitty gritty and talk about the types and what not. Don’t hold me to that, but this is the plan thus far!

OCTOBER’S FOCUS: SELF-CARE (AGAIN ๐Ÿ™‚ )ย 

Personal Goals

  • Fill up my self-love jar with lots of looove – at least halfway full
  • Get in touch with at least one friend from home per week
  • Start saving for seasonal expenses
  • Be more festive!
  • Get at least 5K steps per day

Blog/Social Media Goals

  • Start creating a resource library
  • Write 4 blog posts
  • Post on Instagram at least once per week
  • Grow my Instagram following to 300 followers
  • Grow my Pinterest following to 300 followers

Overall, I am trying to keep my goals reachable (hopefully) since grad school has been kicking my butt lately! Let’s see how this goes ๐Ÿ™‚
